Is Emmanuel Macron's villa for sale?
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte are preparing to sell their villa in the Pas-de-Calais region.
This was reported by the Figaro newspaper.
"Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron are planning to sell the Monéjan villa (named after Brigitte Macron's parents, Simone and Jean), located in Pas-de-Calais," the article says.
The Elysee Palace stated that this is a private matter for the couple, and some local real estate agents say that in the town of Touquet (where the villa is located), everyone is aware of the sale.
According to media reports, the couple decided to sell the 250-square-meter villa because it is situated on the busiest street in the city, attracting curious locals, and the Macrons would prefer more privacy.
The villa originally belonged to Brigitte's father, and she later inherited it. Additionally, Macron took out a 15-year loan of 350,000 euros in 2011 to renovate the property. Currently, he still owes 127,000 euros, and every month, the French president pays the bank around 2,500 euros.
